Meet Jeanne.
Her greatest inspiration for creating her cookbook was to be able to exchange "best of" recipes amongst her close family (French and English speaking) who are spread around the world, "as if we were having a cocktail, lunch or dinner together during confinement time." Jeanne says, "We dreamed this cookbook to be unique, to include handwritten personal souvenirs, anecdotes, and notes from each participant, not only a picture of the dish but a fun picture of the author, too. Each participant chose his top 5 cooking ingredients and an analysis has been conducted to find out if there would be any family 'taste trends' - which indeed happened to be! Along the process, favourite ancestor recipes have been included, more picture-boards added, artistic painting (dividers) and artistic composition (cover, map...) created. This cookbook became, on its own, a family testimony."
During the process of creating her cookbook, she was happiest reconnecting with family members around the world to share recipes. "It became super easy thanks to the fantastic layouts offered by CreateMyCookbook," she says.
Her cookbook has a multitude of recipes, but the one that is most significant is the mini Brioches from her mum! "I can see her doing them. I can imagine the smell. And she took really nice pictures. I was feeling in her kitchen," Jeanne boasts.
She’s created new memories thanks to the creation of her personalized cookbook such as the "surprise of recipe choice by each participants, handwritten notes, fun pictures, ingredient analysis, exchanges of emails and phone calls." Jeanne is so grateful that building this cookbook has allowed her to "simply reconnect with all participants in a creative and delicious way."
Jeanne also says, "It happened a couple of times that the same recipe has been shared twice by 2 different participants.... but of course in a different way, with a twist, so much fun! Some recipes were shared with no 'real' measurements, like the Caramel Beurre Salé from a Grand Mother so we had to ask another family member to give more details... Truth is, some recipes are just done blind, with no 'measurements' at all!"
