His greatest inspiration for his cookbook was his desire that his three children would each have a way to maintain their family traditions and culture through the memorable family meals they can now prepare and share with each other and friends.
During the process of creating his cookbook, Tony’s heart was warmed by the recollections of his mother and aunt lovingly preparing the family meals as he reviewed the many handwritten recipes he had gleaned over the years from watching them cook.
His cookbook has a multitude of recipes, but the one that is most significant is the one entitled “Our Meat Ravioli.” According to Tony, this is an original family recipe that has been made and served in his family on every Christmas Day for as long as he can remember.
The family cookbook, a copy of which was gifted to each of Tony’s children last Christmas, provides for them a special way around the dinner table to share their memories and stories with their children and extended families and create new memories for generations to come.
Thank you, Tony, for sharing your story. If you would like to share your cookbook story, we would love hear it! Share it here.
