How To Create a Beautiful Thanksgiving Tablescape

It’s 2020 - everyone knows you have time to make your Thanksgiving table amazing, but where to start? Making a beautiful table for Thanksgiving can be as easy as 1-2-3!
Step 1: Build Your Base
You always want to start with the base and build from there. A simple table runner or tablecloth can elevate your look in so many ways. Need to cover your whole table so you don’t have to wipe all the spills off after dinner? Get a tablecloth! Want to show off your amazing handcrafted wood table? Get a table runner! I’m a big fan of ‘simple is better’. This year I went with a classic white runner with blue stripes from Hearth and Hand by Magnolia featured at Target.
Step 2: Work with What You Have
What Fall items do you have leftover in your house? Grab them! I started from the center with a white vase and worked my way out. I went to the crowd favorite, Trader Joes, and got an assortment of flowers and greenery that said ‘Fall’ to me.
Tip: When you’re filling your vase don’t trim everything to the same height. Adding in different flowers at different heights can give you a great dramatic feel and draw the eye to more places.
I then added some gourds, mini pumpkins, ceramic pumpkins, mini cinnamon brooms, and topped everything with fresh eucalyptus to add a sensory experience. Don’t try to be perfect at this stage! If something isn’t lined up or didn’t fall right, even better!
Extra tip: Bring the outside in. Head into your yard and grab a few branches and pinecones. If you want to get fancy you can even spray paint the pinecones to add an elevated rustic feel!
Step 3: Add the Dishes
Lastly, add your dishes, serve ware, and glasses to the table to finish it off! I went with plain bone dishes and pops of color in the glasses, but use what you have!
