Her greatest inspiration for her cookbook was her sister Lauren moving into her new house. According to Jocelyn, because her sister has been living in college dorms and living with their parents, Lauren has not had to cook many meals on her own. Meal planning to Jocelyn is stressful. She says it is easy to get into a rut and just make a few things consistently.
“I wanted to give her many ideas for recipes I knew she would love!” says Jocelyn.
During the process of creating her cookbook, Jocelyn’s favorite part was gathering all the recipes from family members and adding pictures from their childhood and now throughout the cookbook.
Her cookbook has a multitude of recipes, but the one that is most significant is the recipe from their grandmother since she passed away a few years ago. This is one of the few recipes Jocelyn has from her. Jocelyn adds, “I hope Lauren is able to create many new cooking memories going through all of the family favorites that I added!”
“Creating this cookbook was such a blast. I went through family photos and was able to find cute pictures of the family from when we were kids. Creating something that was a collaboration from my whole family was intense, but very rewarding. Watching my sister open the cookbook was the best gift because I could see in her eyes how special it was!”
